Residents of Voronezh have started collecting money for a family that lost their three-year-old son in a drone attack overnight. The boy«s aunt, the sister of his father, is organizing the fundraiser.
According to the aunt, the parents managed to escape from the rubble of their collapsed house. Both sustained injuries of varying severity but were unable to rescue their son from the burning ruins. Emergency medical services treated the parents at the scene; their physical condition is stable, but they are emotionally devastated.
The house was completely destroyed by fire, including all documents, phones, and passports. Because of this, the fundraising is being conducted using the aunt«s bank details. She stated that all collected money will go directly to help the family, who lost everything.
«Это мой племянник и семья моего родного брата. У них сгорели все документы, вообще все сгорело, нет ни телефонов, ни паспортов. Поэтому указали мои данные. Через меня все разговоры и сбор, соответственно. Собранные средства пойдут на помощь семье», — she said.
For security reasons, the aunt«s contact information has not been made public. Anyone wishing to help is asked to reach out through the news outlet that reported the story.
The attack occurred overnight, with air defense systems intercepting 36 Ukrainian drones over Voronezh and six districts of the region. Falling debris struck a private home in the suburbs, sparking a fire. The family — a couple and their child — were inside sleeping at the time.
In addition to the child«s death, a 19-year-old resident suffered minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. The attack also damaged the roof of a warehouse used by a marketplace, the facade of another similar building, and shattered windows and roofs in nine private homes. In 15 apartments across five high-rise residential buildings, windows need replacing and utilities require repairs. Shrapnel damaged about ten cars.
Russia«s Investigative Committee has announced it will investigate the circumstances and identify those responsible. As of the time of reporting, it was not known whether a criminal case had been opened or under what article.
